This chapu or 7-beat funk version was the first; it was part of another project looking at the rhythmic possibilities of a plug-in, the Pattern Gate.

I kept the beginning of the old lead. it changes, maybe too dramatically, to a later attempt when the rhythm section comes in. I'm guessing this was due to mike placement.
